Welcome to the new library
at the University of Aberdeen!
The revolving doors opened in September 2011,
just in time for the start of the academic year
and influx of new and returning students
to the historic, cobbled streets of Old Aberdeen.
As a glass paneled building,
the panoramic city and seascapes
offered by the many, many windows
is probably best experienced in person.
The top floor is almost dizzying.
My camera phone did not do it justice.
The spiral core,
peering down through the 7 storey building,
provides an alternate view
down the rabbit hole.
The Guardian recently covered the library
in an interesting news article,
also paying tribute to historic neighbours
including King’s College.
