Word of the Week: “greet”

Last week I wrote about the word “boorachie“,
a dialect term for “a cosy gathering”.

For the second week running,
I have another Scottish word to write about.
This time, it is “greet“,
meaning “cry“.

Example,
She was greetin’
(“she was crying“).

I’ve heard this one before,
but was reminded on Facebook
when a Scottish friend
wrote that a TV show had her greetin’ [sic] already.

So there we go, no need to greet,
I found another Word of the Week!
